Why MITA?
Have you
wondered how you can form community in your classroom? How you can draw
out students' natural excitement for learning as active participants
in any class?
 |
It's not a matter of how much
we teach, but how much we learn together. MITA shows how to build
vibrant learning communities by unleashing unique gifts and abilities
within every learner. The MITA International Renewal Center builds
practical bridges that link learners and teachers across cultures,
ages and genders. In MITA teachers become learners while learners
teach at times. With MITA students bring more of their gifts and
abilities to achieve deeper understanding of any topic. Rather than
just another fad, MITA relies on solid facts about our brain's optimum
potential. Developed from Howard Gardner's research in Multiple
Intelligences, it asks not, "How smart am I?" but, ""How
am I smart?" |
To teach
well, teachers must know and practice strategies generated from current
research about how we learn best. Supporting and mentoring new teachers
and sharing responsibility for school renewal is catching on in the
most progressive schools. Our challenge is to support your vision. The
MITA International Renewal Center provides brain based resources and
opportunities to assist you to achieve secondary and higher education
reform.
